Why cPanel remains the gold standard for our server operations.
August 25, 2026The days of simply installing a firewall, running an antivirus scan and hoping for the best are disappearing.
Web applications are becoming more complex. Attacks are becoming more automated. And malicious code can be deliberately designed to hide among thousands of legitimate files.
We’re seeing the same evolution in email security. The bad players are becoming considerably more sophisticated. They’re increasingly abusing legitimate infrastructure and services provided by companies such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon and others to make malicious activity look legitimate.
That creates a very different security problem.
You can’t simply block the infrastructure being abused, because that same infrastructure is being legitimately used by millions of businesses. The answer has to become more intelligent. We need to look at domains, senders, links, message characteristics, behaviour and other indicators — and constantly adapt as the methods change.
For a small hosting provider, this presents an interesting challenge.
We don’t have an army of security analysts sitting in a SOC. So we’re taking a different approach. We’re looking at our environment, the threats we actually encounter and the problems we have to solve. Then we’re building around those realities.
We’re developing our own internal tooling to help us investigate, identify, and respond to security threats across the environments we manage.
It’s not about building another product to sell. It’s about building better capability for ourselves.
One of those projects is currently called Esnopser™.
It’s still under development. And that’s deliberate. We’re testing it, refining it and learning from every security problem we encounter. Because the people trying to compromise systems aren’t standing still.
They’re becoming more automated, more creative and increasingly good at hiding malicious activity inside legitimate infrastructure and legitimate-looking files.
The future isn’t going to wait until we’re ready.
Neither are the attackers. So we’re getting ready now.
